The so-called dimming profile refers to a specific timer dimming function. Rural roads and urban roads have different needs for dimming configurations. At the same time, the timer dimming function of lamps can be customized. For example, rural roads usually have fewer people after 10 p.m., and the dimming curve can be maintained at 100% brightness from 18:00 to 22:00, and adjusted to 50% brightness from 22:00 to 06:00; while the situation on urban roads may require delaying the time by 1-2 hours. The dimming curve can be set to maintain 100% brightness from 18:00 to 24:00, and adjust to 50% brightness from 24:00 to 06:00. Dimming profile uses the dimming function of the lamp. For example, if 0-10V + timer dimming is used, after setting the timer dimming of the lamp, the controller sends a 0-10V dimming signal to the power supply of the lamp, but the power supply will not perform the dimming operation. And if your lamp is configured with Dali + timer dimming, then after setting the timer dimming, the controller sends a Dali dimming signal to the power supply of the lamp, and the power supply can still execute the instructions of the Dali signal. However, it should be noted that the cost of lamps in the latter is often much higher than that in the former. If your budget is limited, it is recommended to choose the former; if your budget is sufficient, it is best to choose the latter.

Power supply manufacturers such as Inventronics, Osram, Philips, Done, and Meanwell all provide scheduled dimming functions.
