LED panel lights use side-emitting or direct-emitting technology. Their core light-emitting components are LED beads. A light guide plate transforms the point light source into a uniform surface light source, and a diffuser panel creates a soft, glare-free lighting effect. The side-emitting panel light features LEDs distributed along the sides of the aluminum frame. Light is refracted by a light guide plate and emitted from the front, making it ultra-thin (down to 5mm thick) and lightweight. Direct-lit panel lights, on the other hand, evenly arrange the LEDs at the bottom of the lamp body. Most LED panel lights support brightness adjustment. Common dimming methods include rotary dimming, remote control dimming, smart dimming, and 0-10V dimming. Rotary dimming requires a dimmer switch, allowing users to manually adjust the brightness (0%-100%) by rotating the knob. This is suitable for homes or small offices. Remote dimming uses a wireless remote controller that adjusts brightness and color temperature within a range of 5-10 meters. Some systems support group control (e.g., simultaneous dimming of multiple lights in a living room). Smart dimming connects to a mobile app via WiFi or Bluetooth and supports timers, scene modes (such as "work mode" and "rest mode"), and voice control via smart speakers. 0-10V dimming is an industrial-grade dimming method that requires a dedicated dimmer. It is suitable for centralized control systems in large office buildings and shopping malls, offering high dimming accuracy and stability.

Note that dimming requires a built-in dimming module in the luminaire. Be clear about your needs when purchasing: basic models may only support fixed brightness, while smart models are more expensive but offer greater flexibility. Furthermore, the dimming process does not affect the lifespan of the lamps, and energy consumption decreases as brightness is lowered, resulting in even more significant energy savings.

Common sizes for LED panel lights are 300×300mm, 300×600mm, 600×600mm, and 600×1200mm. The size you choose depends on the size and layout of the space: 300×300mm (10-18W) is suitable for small spaces (2-5㎡) such as bathrooms, kitchens, and hallways; 300×600mm (20-30W) is suitable for bedrooms and study rooms (5-10㎡); 600×600mm (30-48W) is suitable for offices and conference rooms (10-20㎡); and 600×1200mm (40-72W) is suitable for large open offices and exhibition halls (over 20㎡).​

Pairing principles: For small spaces, a single lamp is sufficient (e.g., one 300×300mm lamp in a bathroom); for medium-sized spaces, multiple lamps are used (e.g., two 300×600mm lamps in a symmetrical arrangement in a 10㎡ bedroom); for large spaces, a spacing of 1.5-2 times the side length of the lamp should be used (e.g., a 600×600mm lamp should be spaced 80-120cm apart) to ensure uniform lighting. For example, a 30㎡ office can be equipped with four 600×600mm panel lights, arranged in a 2×2 matrix to avoid shadows.
