DST6 Solar Streetlights Land in Burkina Faso

Recently, our company's DST6 series high-performance solar streetlights were successfully installed and put into operation in Burkina Faso. Covering a wide power range from 40W to 200W, this product series features SMD3030 high-efficacy LED chips, achieving a system luminous efficacy exceeding 180lm/W. Combined with a 140°×70° batwing light distribution design, LiFePO4 energy storage solution, and intelligent time-control technology, it provides a reliable off-grid lighting solution for urban roads, community public spaces, and municipal facilities in Burkina Faso. The DST6 solar streetlights deployed in Burkina Faso offer flexible configurations with eight power levels from 40W to 200W, fully meeting diverse lighting needs ranging from community paths to main roads, and from municipal squares to industrial parks. The product uses SMD3030 packaged LED chips with a luminous efficacy of >180lm/W, which is over 30% higher than mainstream products currently on the market, achieving higher brightness output with lower energy consumption. With the 140°×70° batwing light distribution design, the beam angle balances horizontal road coverage and vertical lighting distance, effectively improving road lighting uniformity, reducing dark spots and glare hazards, and providing reliable safety for pedestrians and vehicles.

 

In response to the hot, dry, dusty and sandy climate characteristics of Burkina Faso's Sahel region, the DST6 series has been specifically optimized at the system design level. The product uses LiFePO4 batteries as the energy storage core, which offer ultra-long cycle life (≥4000 cycles) and excellent high and low temperature adaptability, extending service life by 2 to 5 times compared to traditional lead-acid batteries and effectively reducing long-term operation and maintenance costs. The system is equipped with a 50W/18V high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar panel and a 15AH/12.8V battery pack, combined with Time+light intelligent time-control technology, achieving high-efficiency charging during the day, intelligent lighting at night, and deep energy saving. It ensures stable lighting output even during continuous cloudy and rainy weather.

 

The deployment of the DST6 series in Burkina Faso not only demonstrates the company's product strength but also reflects the underlying logic of the continued growth of Africa's solar lighting market. Compared to traditional lead-acid batteries, LiFePO4 batteries have a cycle life of over 4000 cycles, with far better capacity retention than similar products, and exhibit slower performance degradation and higher safety in high-temperature environments. For Burkina Faso, located in the tropics with relatively high average annual temperatures, this technological choice directly impacts the product's total life-cycle cost – a higher initial investment is exchanged for significantly reduced replacement and maintenance frequency, offering stronger economic viability over long-term operation.

 

Additionally, the Time+light intelligent control system uses a combination of time and light sensors to automatically adjust brightness based on sunrise/sunset times and lighting demands during different nighttime periods. While ensuring basic lighting functions, it achieves deep energy savings, further extending battery endurance and the overall system lifespan.
